A huge congratulations to our cast, crew, orchestra, volunteers and production team of the musical “Sweet Charity”. Our audiences were treated to a spectacular performance that showcased the immense talent of the students at Proserpine State High School.
Our school has a strong history of musical productions produced by Proserpine State High School staff and students. This production was no exception, as we were again left amazed by our students and the professionalism of the performance on stage.
The teamwork amongst the musical members has been impressive. We have had young people from all areas of interest and theatrical ability come together to produce a final show that blew the audience away. I spoke to students regarding the important values they have learnt throughout the musical experience that will take them far in life – patience and perseverance, commitment and dedication to a task, understanding and trust of others.
There are too many people for me to thank individually. However, to the students (cast and crew) for your enthusiasm and dedication, to the many staff who juggled their daily work and time away from their own families, to the committed parent helpers and community volunteers, to the family and friends who supported along the way, community businesses and sponsors, thank you for making the musical an overwhelming success.
Special mention to the musical orchestra, comprised of students, teachers and broader community musicians and their contribution to this musical. Those who watched the performances I’m sure would agree that the brilliance of the orchestra was a spectacle in itself. For students to perform to a live orchestra is an incredible privilege and opportunity. I am sincerely grateful to them, many taking time away from their own work to make this possible for our students.
Finally, my sincerest appreciation goes to Musical Directors Jenny Napier and Amelia Hinschen. Without their vision and leadership, this outstanding showcase of student talent would not have been possible.
